Hemp Seed Oil features in the majority of our products and there is a good reason for it!
Is rich in all sorts of vitamins such as Vitamin E, Vitamin D, Vitamin B1 and vitamin B2, essential fatty acids such as omega 6 and omega 3, and minerals like potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc, calcium, and phosphorus. Because it contains all of these things it is hugely beneficial for your skin whether you are applying topically or ingesting it.
Controls oil production
That's right you ready that correctly, an oil can actually reduce or increase the amount of oil your skin produces to what is moderate.
How? Well it has a Comedogenic Rating of 0 which long story short means that it will moisturize your skin without blocking your pores. Did you know that having dry skin can cause your skin to overproduce oil which is effectively what stimulates acne? Hemp Seed Oil will regulate your skins oil production which in turn reduces acne that is caused by excess oil.
We have had customers with oily skin swear by our Hemp Seed Cleansing Oil so please by no means think that because it is an oil it isn't suitable for someone who suffers acne.
Think of it this way, like removes like therefore oil removes oil and better than a traditional foaming cleanser which more than likely will leave your skin gasping for your moisturiser!
Calms inflammation while moisturising
There are 4 different Omega-6 fatty acids. The one that hemp oil contains is Gamma-Linolenic Acid, which acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory while also encouraging skin growth and new cell generation.
That's great news if you suffer from conditions like Psoriasis, Atopic Dermatitis, acne and general irritations because it will keep your skin moisturized while helping to calm inflammation.
This is why I chose it as my base ingredient for my Hemp & Frankincense Moisturiser, because it wont aggravate sensitive skin but is so versatile for all skin types.
If you want to see the most benefit I would also recommend taking Hemp Seed orally, as one study shows it reduced the symptoms and appearance of clinical Atopic Dermatitis after 20 weeks.
Hemp Seed Oil can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This is because the Linoelic Acid and Oleic Acids in Hemp Oil cannot be produced by our body but do play a very important part of your skins overall health it helps prevent aging. Therefore between this and the moisturising effects it can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Our Treatment Serum is the perfect little go to at bed time to apply to your areas of concern, whether it is to assist with healing a skin condition or prevent aging. Its so versatile why not get some to use for both!
Where do you get it from?
There is a big difference between Hemp Seed Oil which is produced by cold pressing the seeds of the Hemp plant and CBD oil which goes through a completely different process of infusing the actual plant matter in a carrier oil. Hemp Seed Oil can not get you stoned, there is no THC in this product!
I source my Hemp Seed Oil from a reputable supplier who obtains it from a sustainable source. It is even manufactured in New Zealand (I always support local where possible) I did consider growing my own but there are so many hoops to jump to get licensed to grow it and then because I live within so many kms of a school I wouldn't be allowed anyway.
