Lemon essential oil is made by cold pressing the peels of lemons.

We have talked about steam distillation before but not cold pressing. This is done by putting the lemon rind in a device that pricks and rotates the peel as oil is released and then the oil runs down into the devices collection area. What are its benefits?

  • Can make your skin and scalp healthier

It does this by killing any bad bacteria growing on your skin. Lemon essential oil has been proven to be effective against some strains of bacteria according to this research.

  • Treats acne

Lemon essential oil is used for many different skin conditions including acne because it can kill the bacteria that gets trapped in your pores which cause your breakouts and is proven in this study.

  • Keeps your scalp in tip top condition

Because it gently exfoliates dead skin cells that normally end up trapped in your hair folicles and pores according to this study, you will find you have a healthier scalp.

Is it safe?

According to research Lemon essential oil is safe to be used by pregnant woman and babies over 3 months old so you can use our completely natural bars to clean bubs hair without any nasty chemicals.

It is not safe for use on animals so please do not try to wash your dog with our bars!

What do I use it in?

I use Lemon essential oil in our Oily hair care bars, both the Shampoo and Conditioner because it helps to balance sebum production as well as preventing dandruff and looking after your scalp clearing up any infections.
